Palladian villas along our roads, half-hidden behind rich vegetation or on the top of a hill there are many buildings reminding the past time when living and spending hours at home in the countryside meant intense pleasure. These are the villas, places for meditation and at the same time a good reason to consolidate family fortunes. Some of them are of incomparable splendour, others more modest, others negleted and weather-beaten. There are more than 3.000 villas in the Venetoprovince. Andrea Palladio is the architect who has left the prestigious sign of an unrepeteable time.

The villa took origin from the columbary tower in the fourteenth century which is wisely linked with another tower through a porch and a loggia. This simple model of villa is destined to an evolution, which during the Renaissance, recalls the big roman villas with their open galleries an terraces in the country, on a hill, at the sea and at the lake. During the centuries villas have been richly   decorated in order to reflect the grateness of the family , its power and prestige.
